The reception in Cruz Alta was at the technical school. With
a special decoration of flags and newspaper articles mentioning the
Dukes, they were welcomed with soda and cookies, so they could
relax and feel at home, before visiting town, and doing the presentation
at the Culture Center.
The two vans in which the Dukes travelled, arrived from Bell Ville
few minutes after 3pm. After the arrival and beverages at the school,
the members of the choir visited the local museum near the railroad
tracks.
Then, a visit to the Culture House, to test the sounds, and to prepare
for the show.
At nightfall, the Duke of Cornwall Singers did they presentation, this
time with an audience of more than 120, filling the theater completely.
Dalene and Nkoko had to sneak through the public to reach the piano
at the other side of the hall, to perform 'The Girl from Ipanema'.
As always, the Dukes developped a warm report to the audience.
After the presentation, back to the school for dinner, and some
public relation with the local authorities and locals. When the
night became too cool, after dinner, the Dukes practiced their
sports qualities, playing volleyball, basketball, and even risked
dancing the local 'cuarteto' dancing.
Just before saying farewells and returning to Marcos Juarez to rest,
souvenirs and heartfelt thanks were exchanged, joyfull from the the
lived experiences. And then... a tiring, but satisfying day was over.
